A3Learning Hosts Online Safety Event in Penafiel, PT

On the 28th and 29th of May, the A3Learning project organised two educational events in Penafiel, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of online safety in the school and digital context. The events took place at Escola Secundária Joaquim de Araújo and Escola Básica de Marecos, Portugal, with participation from parents, teachers, and students.

The first session, aimed at parents and legal guardians, focused on crucial topics such as the responsible use of technology and protecting young people online. The second session, targeting 6th-grade students, focused on the impact of technology in education and the importance of online safety while using digital tools for learning and studying.

One of the main highlights of the events was the Parents’ Toolkit for Digital Education of Teenagers, which was distributed to all participants. This resource provides practical guidance on how to protect children and young people in the digital space, covering topics such as privacy, social media safety, and ethical internet usage.

Participants expressed great interest in the topic, and the event was widely praised for its content, with many expressing a desire for further sessions on this matter. The success of these events emphasises the importance of continuous digital education and engaging the whole school community. This event marks another step in the A3Learning project, which aims to provide innovative resources for teachers, students, and parents, empowering them to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.
