On 28 May 2025, the final event of the A3Learning project, organized in cooperation with the National Pedagogical Institute (NPI), took place at the T. G. Masaryk Elementary School in Jihlava, Vysočina region – Czech Republic. The event was attended by 64 active participants – teachers and their pupils – and another approximately 30 visitors arrived for at least a short part of the program.
Presentation of the results of the A3Learning project
The aim of the event was to present the main outputs of an international project co-financed from the Erasmus+ programme, which focuses on blended learning, combining of face-to-face and online teaching, including the involvement of modern digital tools and methods suitable for teaching. The results mentioned include, in particular, the competence model and newly created lessons and materials for the development of digital skills needed by teachers and students needed for the application of the approach, scenarios for trying out blended learning, or a community platform where practical examples of students’ outcomes can be found.
The Competence Model and educational materials define and support the development of the following digital competencies needed to apply the A3Learning approach:
- Creating and modifying digital resources for teaching and learning
- Digital learning
- Personalization and differentiation
- Analyzing the evidence
- Feedback and planning
Another key result of the project is the A3Learning handbook, which summarizes the methodology of the A3Learning project aimed at introducing a flexible, inclusive and digitally developed blended learning method. The document serves as a practical guide for schools that want to move from crisis online teaching to sustainable, modern and high-quality digital education.
During our event, the participants were introduced to who and how can use these A3Learning results in practice (to support teaching or to support student learning, or to apply the whole concept within the school). Specific activities at the stations were then an example of how certain digital tools can be used. At the Canva station, students and teachers created a poster with a holidays activity, which was animated and interactive. Furthermore, at the animation station, the participants tried to create a short film using the Stop Motion tool. At the 3D printing station, students and teachers got acquainted with working in the TinkerCad tool. In TinkerCad, the participants of the activity created objects on the theme of holidays. The last station was working with AI, where students and teachers tried out what AI can be used for (this time to plan a school trip with a certain amount of money and other parameters).
Interactive program in the school environment
The whole event took place in an interactive form directly in the school environment, which allowed teachers and students to apply immediately new knowledge in real time. In mixed teams, they participated in practical workshops at several stations, where they tried out various digital tools under the guidance of experienced lecturers from NPI. Thanks to these activities, teachers and students took away not only new knowledge and skills, but also inspiration on how to use these technologies in their teaching.
Support from NPI, including IT audit
The event was supported by T. G. Masaryk Elementary School in Jihlava, and also co-organized by the National Pedagogical Institute, which supports the education of teachers. An NPI consultant was available on site to help the teachers involved reflect on the experience from the interactive part of the event and link the experience to the context of documents of frameworks educational programme and the development of digital competences and computational thinking of students. School representatives were also able to learn about the possibility of a free IT audit, thanks to which schools can identify their weaknesses in cyber security and connectivity settings at school and obtain recommendations for further development of digital infrastructure. The NPI also informed about additional teacher training programmes and resources available to schools for digital competence development free of charge until December 2025 from the National Recovery Plan.
Positive feedback
The event received very positive feedback from all participants. Teachers and students appreciated the collaborative learning format – the opportunity to learn and create side by side – as significantly more beneficial than traditional separate forms of education. Cooperation is part of the A3Learning approach and is very important and supported through the project outputs. Many participants left excited about new ideas and specific tools that they can use tomorrow in teaching.
A big thank you goes to the T. G. Masaryk Elementary School in Jihlava and its management for providing the premises and supporting the event. In particular, we would like to highlight the help of teachers Mrs. Vodrážková and Mrs. Veselá, who significantly contributed to the preparation of the whole event. Thanks to their enthusiasm and cooperation, we managed to organize an inspiring meeting that successfully completed the A3Learning project.
We would also like to thank the NPI, which co-organized the event with us and financially supported it, which was very important and valuable for organizing this event in an interactive format. Thanks to the professional and financial background of the NPI, it was possible to create an environment where students and teachers could really try out modern technologies in practice.
